The Maheu Effect: Boosting Nutrition and Attendance for 1,800 Pupils at Dombotombo Primary School

In partnership with Dombotombo Primary School, Adam Molai Foundation intensified its focus on educational support through nutrition in 2021. The flagship program centered on providing fortified Maheu to an expansive cohort of 1,800 pupils four days a week. This fortified drink is packed with essential minerals and nutrients, making it a powerful tool in combating classroom hunger and its negative effects.

The impact was immediate and profound. School administration reports highlighted a clear link between the consistent provision of the Maheu and improvements in student well-being. By ensuring children received this vital supplement, the Foundation helped boost their energy levels, enhance their concentration during lessons, and, critically, improve overall school attendance rates. The Maheu program demonstrated that sustained educational success often begins with simple, yet vital, nutritional security, enabling students at Dombotombo Primary to maintain healthy bodies and focus on their academic potential. The Foundation also maintained its robust daily feeding program for 500 vulnerable people in the community during this time.
