How Two Critical Boreholes Transformed Health and Hygiene in Dombotombo East and Cherutombo

The Adam Molai Foundation recognized that amidst the global health and economic uncertainty of 2021, the most fundamental intervention required was the provision of safe, clean water. This realization spurred a major infrastructure drive focused on two densely populated suburbs: Dombotombo East and Cherutombo.

The successful drilling and commissioning of two boreholes in these areas marked an end to the daily drudgery faced by residents, particularly women and girls, who often spent hours queuing or traveling long distances to secure water from unreliable sources. The new boreholes provide a sustainable, protected source of potable water, immediately enhancing community health and hygiene standards and reducing the incidence of waterborne diseases. By addressing this critical need, the Foundation not only secured a basic human right but also freed up valuable time and resources for families to focus on other productive activities. This targeted infrastructure development served as a tangible commitment to public welfare and community resilience.
